Kleinhenz, Express Volleyball Bounce Back With Two Straight Set Wins

Toledo, OH---The Express volleyball team was one day removed from a tough, four set loss to Sinclair Community College, but bounced back with straight set wins over Edison Community College and St. Clair County Community College today.

Jazmine Thomas (Lima Senior/Lima, OH) led the Express with 10 kills in the matchup against Edison Community College, while Kenzie Kleinhenz(St. Henry/St. Henry, OH) added eight. Ciarra Wirick (Benjamin Logan/West Liberty, OH) had a team-high 20 assists, while Jessica Cooper (Brandywine/Niles, MI) added 16. Lisa Urbanski (Notre Dame Academy/Toledo, OH) had 17 digs, while Kennedy Geyman(Jefferson/Monroe, MI) added 11. Thomas and Kayla Siefker(Kalida/Ottawa, OH) each had four blocks to lead the Express.

Stephanie Kipp (Ida/Monroe, MI) had a team-high 15 kills in the win over St. Clair County, while Thomas added 10. Wirick (27) and Cooper (21) led in assists, while Urbanski (15) and Wirick (10) led in digs. The Express only had one block as a team, and it came from Thomas.

Notes

The Express are now 13-16 overall and 6-3 in OCCAC play with the win. The match against Edison was an OCCAC contest, while the St. Clair County match was not.
The next action for the Express will be Wednesday at home against OCCAC foe Cuyahoga Community College beginning at 5 p.m.
