Thomas (21 Kills) Helps Lead No. 16 Express Past St. Clair County and Macomb

Toledo, OH---The No. 16 Express volleyball team swept a pair of matches in the SHAC today against St. Clair County Community College and Macomb Community College.

In a 25-15, 25-20, 25-13 win over St. Clair County, Jazmine Thomas led the Express with 12 kills, while Dakia Sellers added eight and Alyssa Meis had six. Molly Hilfinger had a team-high 30 assists, while Lisa Urbanski had a team-high 19 digs. Bailey Windham (12) and Meis (10) each added double digit totals in digs. Thomas led the team in blocking, as well, with three assisted and one solo block.

Overall, the Express had 35 kills, 32 assists, five aces, 62 digs, four solo blocks and eight assisted blocks.

In a 25-18, 26-24, 25-14 win over Macomb CC, the Express was led by Meis and Sellers, who had 12 kills apiece. Thomas added nine kills, while Kenzie Kleinhenz had five. Hilfinger (36 assists) and Urbanski (17 digs) once again had team-highs in those respective categories. Brandi Schimming (15) and Meis (13) also had double figure totals in digs. Thomas and Kleinhenz each tied for the team lead in assisted blocks with two apiece.

Overall, the Express had 45 kills, 39 assists, six aces, 58 digs and six assisted blocks.

The Express improved to 24-7 overall with the two straight set wins. In an effort to remain perfect in OCCAC play, the Express will take on Lakeland Community College on Wednesday at 5 p.m. in the SHAC. They have three conference games remaining including Lakeland.
