Columbus State's Davis Earns OCCAC Player of the Week Honor

Keyvona Davis, a freshman center for Columbus State Community College, has been named the OCCAC women's basketball player of the week.

Davis averaged 20 points, 21.3 rebounds (10.7 offensive), three assists, 2.3 steals and three blocks per game while helping Columbus State pick up three wins last week.

In an 82-64 win over Lakeland, she had 24 points, 22 rebounds (11 offensive), four rebounds, four assists, five blocks and three steals. In a 135-38 win over Hocking College, she had 20 points, 19 rebounds (12 offensive), three assists, four blocks and two steals. Then, in a 113-76 win over Lorain County, she had 16 points, 23 rebounds (nine offensive), two assists and two steals.

Davis is averaging 11.1 points, 11.9 rebounds and 1.2 assists per game this year for Columbus State (12-11 overall, 7-4 OCCAC). In OCCAC play, she is currently the league's leading rebound and averaging 15.8 points, 14.2 rebounds, 1.5 assists and one steal per game.

Davis and Columbus State will be back in action tomorrow at Cuyahoga Community College at 5:30 p.m.
