Onyx Lopez, a sophomore guard for the Lorain County Community College women's basketball team, has been named the OCCAC women's basketball player of the week.

Lopez averaged 18.5 points per game in two wins last week. In a 62-49 victory over Ann Arundel, she had 18 points, three rebounds, one assist, two steals and one block in 38 minutes. She followed that up with 21 points, three rebounds, one assist, one steal and two blocks in 35 minutes of action.

Lopez has helped lead Lorain County to a 3-2 start to the season. She is averaging 23.6 points, 4.4 rebounds and 2.6 assists per game so far.

Lorain County will be back in action Saturday at Pitt-Titusville.
