Anderson, Moore Win OCCAC Player of the Week Honors (Feb. 16-22)

Grover Anderson and Jonessa Moore have been named the OCCAC player of the week selections in men's and women's basketball, respectively.

Anderson, a freshman guard for Cincinnati State Technical and Community College, averaged 22.5 points, 7.5 rebounds, two steals and 1.5 assists in wins over Columbus State Community College and Lakeland Community College. In an 84-81 win over Columbus State, he had 20 points, seven rebounds, three steals and two assists before gathering 25 points, eight rebounds, one assist and one steal in a 75-74 win over Lakeland.

In those two games, Anderson shot 14-for-33 (.424) from the field and a perfect 17-for-17 from the foul line.

Anderson is averaging a team-high 11.6 points per game overall this year, including a 15.5 point per game averaging in OCCAC play. Cincinnati State (24-5, 11-2 OCCAC) will travel to Owens on Saturday for a 3 p.m. matchup that will determine at least a share of the OCCAC title.

Moore, a sophomore center for Cincinnati State Technical and Community College, averaged 21 points, nine rebounds over a pair of games last week. In an 83-73 loss to Columbus State, she produced 24 points, six rebounds, four steals, two blocks and one assist. Then, in a 91-34 win over Lakeland, she had 18 points and 12 rebounds.

Moore finished 18-for-27 (.667) from the field over the two games. She is averaging 22.2 points and 11.4 rebounds in conference play this year.
Cincinnati State (18-10, 9-4 OCCAC) will travel to Owens for the regular season finale on Saturday at 1 p.m.
