Chris Scott and Jonessa Moore have been named the OCCAC player of the week selections for the week of Jan. 12-18 in men's and women's basketball, respectively.

Scott, a freshman forward for Lakeland Community College, had career-highs in points (30) and rebounds (14) in a 107-91 win over Lorain County. He followed that up with 18 points and eight rebounds in a 117-86 win over Sinclair.

Scott is averaging 13.8 points and 8.1 rebounds per game for Lakeland (12-5 overall, 3-0 OCCAC). They will host Owens Community College on Wednesday in a battle of the league's only two 3-0 teams so far.

Moore, meanwhile, saw her first action of the season for Cincinnati State's women's basketball team last week, and she made it count.

The sophomore forward had 22 points, 14 rebounds and two blocks in a 74-59 win over Sinclair Community College and 22 points and 15 rebounds in an 84-36 win over Cuyahoga Community College.

Moore and Cincinnati State (12-6, 3-0 OCCAC) will travel to Edison Community College on Wednesday.
