Murry, Jackson Win OCCAC Player of the Week Honors (Jan. 5-11)

John Murry and Jada Jackson have been named the OCCAC player of the week selections for the week of Jan. 5-11 in men's and women's basketball, respectively.

Murry, a sophomore guard for Owens Community College, had 27 points, 15 rebounds, two assists, one steal and one block in his team's 88-79 win over Sinclair Community College on Saturday. It was the team's only game of the week.

Murry is averaging 19.5 points, 6.6 rebounds and 3.1 assists per game for Owens (13-4 overall, 1-0 OCCAC).

Jackson, a freshman guard for Cincinnati State Technical and Community College, scored 26 points to lead her team to a win over Lorain County Community College in her team's conference opener. It was also her team's only game of the week.

Jackson is averaging 10.9 points, two rebounds and 1.7 assists per game for Cincinnati State (10-6, 1-0 OCCAC).

Notes

Murry's honor marks the third time this season he has won the award. He also won Nov. 16 and Dec. 21.

Jackson's award is her first of the season. It is also the third time a player from Cincinnati State has won the honor this year. Emily Fite (Nov. 9) and Maura Hackney (Dec. 28) previously won.
