Fomby, Harley Win OCCAC Player of the Week Honors (Dec. 8-14)

Robert Fomby and Sierra Harley have been named the OCCAC player of the week selections in men's and women's basketball for games ending Dec. 14.

Fomby, a sophomore forward for Cuyahoga Community College, averaged 16.2 points, 13 rebounds, 2.3 steals and 1.3 assists per game over three contests last week.

In a 76-72 loss to Niagara, he had 12 points and six rebounds. In an 87-64 win over Mercyhurst North East, he had 28 points and 18 rebounds. Then, in a 90-51 win over CC of Allegheny County, he had 12 points, 15 rebounds, four steals and three assists.

Fomby is averaging 17.2 points and 7.9 rebounds for the Challengers, who are 8-3 this year. Fomby and his teammates will be back in action Dec. 19 at Macomb Community College.

Fomby leads the team in rebounding and is second in scoring.

Harley, a freshman guard for Owens Community College, produced a game-high 20 points, while tying for the game-high in assists with six in a 91-67 win over Lake Michigan College on Saturday.

Owens has won 10 straight and sits at 10-1 this year. Harley is averaging 14.5 points, 4.6 rebounds, 3.6 assists and 1.7 steals per game. She leads the team in scoring and is second in assists.

Owens will travel to Palm Beach, Fla. this weekend for a trio of games against Clinton Junior College, Tohono O'odham Community College and Palm Beach State College.
