Davis, Owens Win OCCAC Player of the Week Honors (Nov. 17-23)

Mike Davis and O'sha Owens were the OCCAC player of the week winners in men's and women's basketball for the week of Nov. 17-23.

Davis, a sophomore guard for Lakeland Community College, scored 25 points, while adding seven rebounds, one assist and two steals in an 88-74 loss to No. 2 Oakland Community College on Nov. 22. He finished 9-for-16 from the field, 2-for-4 from 3-point range and 5-for-11 from the foul line.

It was his team's only game of the week. Lakeland is currently 3-2 this year. Davis is averaging 24.7 points, five rebounds and two assists per game in three games this year.

Owens, meanwhile, totaled 48 points over three wins for Sinclair Community College. The sophomore guard shot 17-for-40 from the field, 6-for-11 from 3-point range and 8-for-13 from the foul line. In a 64-60 win over UC-Clermont, she hd 20 points. In a 56-51 win over Cedarville JV, she had 19 points. Then, in a 65-55 win over Dayton Club, she had nine points.

Owens has helped Sinclair to a 6-2 start this year. She is averaging 13.3 points, 3.6 assists and 3.1 rebounds per game.
