Brown, Fite Nab First OCCAC Player of the Week Honors Of 2014-15 Season

The Ohio Community College Athletic Conference (OCCAC) has selected Cuyahoga Community College's Cairo Brown and Cincinnati State Technical and Community College's Emily Fite as the first 2014-15 season player of the week selections in men's and women's basketball.

The award is for all games played through Nov. 9.

Brown, a freshman guard, has led Cuyahoga to a 4-0 start behind averages of 22.5 points, 4.8 assists and four rebounds per game. He scored at least 20 points in each of the team's four wins. In the four games, he shot 27-for-62 from the field, 8-for-14 from 3-point range and 28-for-30 from the foul line.

Fite, a sophomore forward, averaged 18.7 points, 11 rebounds, two assists, 1.3 steals and 0.3 blocks per game as her team went 2-1 to open the season. She shot 19-for-46 from the field and 17-for-21 from the foul line. She led a second half comeback from 18 points down against Mercyhurst North East in the season opener.
