Lake Michigan beats Cincinnati State Lady Surge by 7

East Peoria, IL - On the second day of the Illinois Central College Holiday Tournament, Cincinnati State lost 86-79 to Lake Michigan Community College on Sunday.

Cincinnati State led in nearly every statistical category but were unable to successfully take care of the ball. Lake Michigan forced the Surge into 21 turnovers, leading to a 24-13 advantage in points scored off of turnovers. Cincinnati State's backcourt accounted for 16 giveaways as the team lost its 4th game in a row.

With the win, Lake Michigan improved to 8-3 overall. The Lady Surge fell to 7-6 on the season.

Cincinnati State freshman Emily Fite, who was in foul trouble throughout the game, finished with a game high 27 points and 12 rebounds in just 22 minutes of play. Freshmen guards Ericka Fitzpatrick and Phylicia Johnson each finished with 13 points.

The Surge will play their final game of the tournament on Monday at noon.
