Randolph, Express Women's Basketball Now Ranked 4th In The Nation

Toledo, Ohio---The Express women's basketball team has inched up in the latest National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) D-II poll.

The Express, who are currently 12-1 and riding a 12-game winning streak, moved up to fourth in today's newest poll.

Last week, the Express were ranked fifth. In their only game of the week, they defeated Kirtland Community College 84-51 behind 17 points and seven assists from Kamilah Carter (Pioneer/Ann Arbor, Mich.).

In their next game, the Express will try to match the 13-1 start of the 2010-11 team with a 5:30 p.m. road rematch against Kirtland Community College on Dec. 18. They will return home to take on Grand Rapids Community College on Dec. 21 at 1 p.m.

Notes

Today marks the fourth consecutive poll that the Express have been ranked in the nation's top 10. It is their highest ranking since Dec. 8, 2010 when they were also ranked fourth in the nation. The program has been ranked in the top 10 since March 5, 2013.

The 2010-11 team holds the program records for best start in a season (11-0) and best one-loss start (13-1). The 1999-2000 team started 5-0 on their way to a 12-1 start, while the 1996-97 team started 10-0 on their way to an 11-1 start.

The 2009-10 team holds the program record for longest winning streak at 18, while the 1996-97 team won 17 straight after their second loss midway through the season. They started 28-2 before being upset in the Region XII tournament. The 2009-10 had the second best two-loss start at 25-2.
