Sinclair Women’s basketball gets commanding victory over Ivy Tech 90-48

Dayton, Ohio---The Sinclair women's basketball team (6-6) hosted Ivy Tech (1-4) in their second home game of the week.  After turning things around at the end of the first half Sinclair turned it on in the second half and did not look back getting a commanding victory over Ivy Tech.  

Sinclair started out with a basket by Breanna Ball off a steal from Ashley Morrow.  Ivy Tech soon followed and the game remained close for the first five minutes of play.  Breanna Ball was on fire hitting 10 of 15 in the half.  Sinclair then pulled away on both sides of the court taking an eventual 20-7 lead.  Ivy Tech hit back to back threes cutting Sinclair's lead to 20-13 with 8:00 to play.  Suddenly Ivy Tech was back in the game going on a 15-0 run taking a 22-20 lead over Sinclair with under 6:00 left in the first half.  Jenae Curtiss got things going again on offense for Sinclair when she hit a shot tying the game 22-22.  From that point on Sinclair went on a 18-2 run regaining a 40-24 halftime lead.  Breanna Ball led Sinclair with 22 points, nine rebounds and three steals in the first half.  

Sinclair went on a 13-0 run to start the second half, Breanna Ball with four of the 13 points.  Sinclair came out playing in the second half how they ended the first half and just dominated both offensively and defensively.  Jenae Curtiss hits a jumper to put Sinclair up 65-40 with a little under 8:30 to play. Breanna Ball continued to pour on the buckets hitting a jumper that put Sinclair up by 30 (74-44) with just under 6:00 to play.  Sinclair just dominated the second half and got their sixth victory of the season beating Ivy Tech 90-48.  Sinclair shot 51.3% in the second half.     

Sinclair was led by Breanna Ball (5-6/FR – Belmont H.S., Dayton, OH) who put up her second double-double in a row recording 34 points and 11 rebounds.  O'Sha Owens (5-4/FR – Elida H.S., Elida, OH) added 16 points and six rebounds and Jenae Curtiss (5-9/FR – Thurgood Marshall H.S., Dayton, OH) tallied 11 points and nine rebounds.

Sinclair gets a two week break until they play their next game which will be on December 18 when they host Miami-Middletown.  Tip-off will be at 5:30 PM, the men's team will follow at 7:30 PM.  All home games are held at Sinclair Community College in the gymnasium in building 8.
