Sinclair Women’s Basketball Improves To 3-3 with an 80-63 win over Schoolcraft

Dayton, Ohio---The Sinclair women's basketball team (3-3) hosted Schoolcraft College (1-3) on Saturday.  

The game was Sinclair's second home game of the week and the 80-63 win over Schoolcraft helped even out their record at 3-3.      

Sinclair took an early lead with a three by O'Sha Owens. Sinclair then went on an 8-0 run over the first five minutes of the game leading 11-2.  Sinclair's speed off of turnovers proved to be too much for Schoolcraft in the first half.  

Sinclair created eight Schoolcraft turnovers. Jenae Curtiss sinks a three-pointer to put Sinclair up 24-8 with a little over 12:00 minutes to play in the first half. Curtiss then hit another three-pointer with a little over a minute left in the first half putting Sinclair's halftime lead to 43-29.  

Jenae Curtiss led the team with 15 points in the first half.  Sinclair was 9 for 12 from the free throw line in the first half.Sinclair remained very strong and maintained their lead in the second half with their tenacious pressure and speed.  They created 25 total Schoolcraft turnovers.  

Sinclair was led by Jenae Curtiss (5-9/FR – Thurgood Marshall H.S., Dayton, OH) with 24 points, seven rebounds and four steals. O'Sha Owens (5-4/FR – Elida H.S., Lima, OH) had 22 points and five rebounds. Ashley Morrow (5-6/FR – Springboro H.S., Springboro, OH) added 16 points and led the team with nine rebounds.

Sinclair will be at home again on Nov. 21 when they host the Wittenberg JV team at 5:30 PM in building 8 at Sinclair Community College.  The men's game will follow at 7:30 PM.
