Lianna Innocent leads Sinclair past Cincinnati State

Cincinnati, OH---Sinclair Community College's Liana Innocent scored 24 points and grabbed 11 rebounds to lead her team to an 80-67 upset of Cincinnati State, knocking the No. 20-ranked Lady Surge from first place in the OCCAC.

The Tartan raced to an 11-point lead in the first half and held off Cincinnati State with 42 percent shooting in the second half.

Riley Weng added 17 points. Carly Montgomery scored 16 points. Ashtyn Payne recorded 15 points and 18 rebounds.  

As a team, Sinclair out-rebounded Cincinnati State 55-51 and made 24 of 36 free throw attempts compared to Cincinnati State's 5 for 10 performance from the line.  

Cameron Vaughn led Cincinnati State with 14 points and 15 rebounds. Kindsay Brandt had 13 points and 9 rebounds. Grace McDougall scored 12.

The loss was the second straight for Cincinnati State, which fell to 23-6 overall and 8-3 in conference play. Sinclair, which improved to 7-8 overall, is now 4-6 in conference play.

Cincinnati State will have the next 10 days off before traveling to play Cuyahoga (3-15;1-7) in the regular season finale on March 2nd.
