Sam Paratore scores 19 points off the bench as Lady Surge cruise past Columbus State

Cincinnati, OH---Cincinnati State sophomore Samantha Paratore came off the bench to lead all scorers with 19 points and 10 rebounds as Cincinnati State beat Columbus State Community College 82-50 in a key Ohio Community College Athletic Conference contest on Wednesday night.
 
Paratore, a 6'4 center from Winton Woods High School, converted 8 of 13 field goals and added 2 blocked shots. Freshman Brandi Henschen finished with 13 points and 6 rebounds. Desiree Ash, the team's leading scorer, finished with 12 points and 7 rebounds. Point guard Grace McDougall recorded a game high 8 assists as Cincinnati State improved to 8-1 in conference play.
 
As a team, Cincinnati State held Columbus State, a top five nationally ranked three point shooting team, to 1 of 13 from beyond the arc.
 
Columbus State, which fell to 6-3 in the OCCAC, was led by Melea Smith's 13 points and 7 rebounds.
 
Ranked No. 20 in the NJCAA national poll at 23-4 overall and staying on top the OCCAC standings, the Lady Surge will travel to Owens Community College on Saturday. Owens enters the contest a game behind Cincinnati State in the conference standings with a 7-2 record.
