Piqua, OH---Kendra Brunswick was named the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) D-II Player of the Week yesterday.

It marks the second time that an OCCAC basketball player has captured the award in recent weeks. James Kelly of the Owens Community College men's basketball team captured the award late in January.

Here's what the NJCAA had to say on their website about Brunswick:

The Chargers went 2-0 last week with Brunswick spearheading the Edison attack. In a 76-68 win over Owens CC (Ohio), the sophomore scored a game-high 23 points while adding 13 rebounds, five assists and two steals to the effort. Brunswick followed up with a game-high 35 points on 15-of-19 shooting from the field to go along with nine rebounds, five assists and seven steals in a 95-35 rout of Lakeland CC (Ohio). Edison has benefited from Brunswick's play on both ends of the court in 2012-13 as she leads the team with 18.9 points and 2.4 steals per game.

The sophomore forward shot a sizzling 24-for-35 from the field overall, 5-for-7 from 3-point range and 5-for-6 from the foul line in two wins last week.

In a 76-68 home victory over Owens Community College, Brunswick had 23 points, 13 rebounds, five assists and two steals. Then, in a 95-35 road win over Lakeland Community College, she poured in 35 points and added nine rebounds, seven steals and five assists in only 27 minutes.

In those two games, she totaled 58 points, 22 rebounds, nine steals and 10 assists.

Congratulations to Kendra on a great accomplishment!
