Cincinnati, OH---The Cincinnati State women's basketball team defeated Vincennes (Ind.) University 73-65 in overtime on Saturday afternoon.
Cincinnati State, which is now 3-0 in overtime games this season, was down by 7 with 4:31 left in regulation before going on a 10-3 run to tie the game 63-63 and force overtime.
In the extra period, the Lady Surge defense held Vincennes to 2 points. Freshmen Hannah Stephenson converted on a 3-pointer to extend the lead to 6 with 48.7 seconds remaining to help seal the victory. She finished with a game high 7 assists.
Desiree Ash led all scorers with 24 points, converting 10 of 11 free throws. Kindsay Brandt finished with 13 points as the team avenged a 60-57 loss to Vincennes earlier in the season.
Led by Cameron Vaughn's game high 16 rebounds, Cincinnati State out-rebounded Vincennes 51-35, resulting in a 19-6 advantage in second chance points.Vincennes fell to 8-15 overall.
The Cincinnati State women now have a 20-4 overall record, and are 5-1 in Ohio Community College Athletic Conference games.
Cincinnati State will travel to face conference rival Edison Community College at 5:30 pm. Wednesday.
