Cameron Vaughn leads Cincinnati State past Cuyahoga

Cincinnati, OH---Cincinnati State's Cameron Vaughn, who finished with 19 points,  led four double figure scorers as Cincinnati State defeated Cuyahoga Community College 84-51 in conference play on Saturday afternoon.
 
The Surge, who climbed to 18-4 overall, strengthened their hold on second place in the OCCAC standings at 4-1. Cuyahoga fell to 7-12 and 0-4 in the conference.
 
Vaughn, who was limited to three minutes due to foul trouble in the first half, scored all 19 of her points in the second stanza. She also finished with a game-high 10 rebounds.

Cincinnati State built a 27-25 margin by halftime and out scored the Challengers by 21 points in the second half. Kindsay Brandt had 14 points along with five assists and six steals. Desiree Ash and Samantha Paratore each tallied 11.
 
Janae Purdue led Cuyahoga with 18 points.
 
As a team, Cincinnati State forced Cuyahoga into 26 turnovers, leading to a 27-9 advantage in points off of turnovers.

It was Cincinnati State's 14th straight win over Cuyahoga, dating back to the 2005 season.

Cincinnati State will travel to play Sinclair Community College on Wednesday.
