Brandt's 21 points leads Cincinnati State to overtime victory over Owens

Cincinnati, OH---Cincinnati State sophomore Kindsay Brandt scored a game-high 21 points in a 82-75 overtime win over Owens Community College on Saturday.

In a contest featuring two of the Ohio Community College Athletic Conference top two perennial powers, Saturday marked the third time in a row the Lady Surge beat Owens in overtime. With the score knotted at 65-65 heading into the extra period, Cincinnati State opened the extra period on a 11-0 run en route to knocking off their conference rival.

Brandt, played all 45 minutes off the game, also finished with 10 rebounds and 4 steals. Cameron Vaughn finished with 18 points and 16 rebounds. Desiree Ash scored 13 points and Brandi Henschen finished with 7 points, with 5 straight to start the Surge run in overtime.

For Owens, which has lost their last 4 against the Surge dating back to the 2011 season, Emma Jean- Ricketts and Mackenzie Heacock led the way with 19 points each.

Cincinnati State, which improves to 17-3 overall and 3-0 in conference play, will face Columbus State Community College on the road on Wednesday.
