Cincinnati, OH---Sophomore Kindsay Brandt scored 22 points, leading Cincinnati State to a 80-75 victory over Edison Community College on Wednesday night.

With Cincinnati State up 65-54 with 6:51 remaining, Edison scored on eight straight possessions to cut the lead to three. Cincinnati State relied on clutch free throw shooting from Brandt, who converted her final four attempts from the line to seal the victory.

Scoring in double figures for the fifth consecutive game, Brandt also finished with 6 assists and 7 rebounds. Cameron Vaughn recorded a double-double with 17 points and 17 rebounds. Freshman Desiree Ash scored 15 points.

Leading the way for Edison, who dropped to 9-3 overall, was Brooke Richard, who scored 19 points. Tori Purk and Kerra Brunswick each had 18.

Improving to 16-3 on the season and 2-0 in conference play, the Lady Surge will return to action at home on Saturday against Owens Community College. Last year, both contests between the two perennial conference powers went into overtime with Cincinnati State ultimately prevailing on both occasions.

Saturday's game is scheduled to start at 1:00 pm.
