Cincinnati State earns 72-61 road win over Wayne County

Detroit, MI---The Cincinnati State women's basketball team won 72-61 against Wayne County Community College on Saturday afternoon.

Cincinnati State, which was down 28-25 at halftime, were propelled to the win by freshman Brandi Henschen's 15 second half points, finishing with a game-high 18. Desiree Ash finished with 17 points and 9 rebounds. Playing the majority of the second half with 4 fouls, Cameron Vaughn recorded her 8th double-double of the season with 13 points and 19 rebounds before fouling out with 4 minutes remaining. Samantha Paratore finished with 10 points and 9 rebounds as the Lady Surge earned their 4th straight victory.

Improving to 11-1 on the season, Cincinnati State will travel to play Kirkwood Community College on Dec. 28 in the opening round of the Illinois Central College Invitational in East Peoria, Illinois.
