Cincinnati State beats South Suburban 68-56; improves to 9-1 on season

South Holland, IL---The Cincinnati State women's basketball team won 68-56 over tournament host South Suburban Community College in the final game of the South Suburban Invitational on Saturday afternoon.
 
Cameron Vaughn, who was named the tournament MVP, led the Surge with 18 points and 17 rebounds. Freshman Desiree Ash scored 15 points. Kindsay Brandt recorded 9 points, 5 steals and 4 assists.
 
As a team, Cincinnati State shot 40% from the field and out rebounded the opponent 46-37.
 
"We played our most complete game as a team today," Head Coach Sonya Beeler said. "We were able to run our offense efficiently and execute different looks on defense."
 
Improving to 9-1 on the season, the Lady Surge will travel to Detroit, Michigan to play Wayne County Community College on Saturday, Dec. 22
