Toledo, OH---Emma-Jean Ricketts scored a career-high 24 points to lead the Express women's basketball team past Schoolcraft College 81-57 on Monday.

Ricketts added eight rebounds, three assists, one steal and one block, while Uniqua Mitchell added 14 points and Nandi Taylor had 12 points.

As a team, the Express came out sluggish over the game's first 10 minutes. The Ocelots drained back-to-back 3-pointers to open the game up 6-0 before the Express tied it at six-all with 15:12 left.

After a lay-up by Courtney Dyer put the Ocelots up 16-15 with 10:11 remaining, Ricketts hit a lay-up to give the Express the lead back. They would never trail again.

After an 8-0 run that Ricketts started, the Express led 23-16. The Ocelots then hit a lay-up to pull within five, but the Express then went on a 9-0 run to take a 32-18 lead.

Then, over the final 4:22 of the first half, the Express outscored the Ocelots 10-1 to take a 46-23 lead into the break.

In the second half, the Express led by as many as 27 and as few as 16.

Danielle Bezeau had a fine all-around game for the Express as she finished with five points, seven rebounds and team-highs in assists (5) and steals (4).

Breonna House (6) and Jordyn Bond (5) each helped the Express rebounding effort off the bench as the Express outproduced Schoolcraft 49-40 overall in that category.

Dyer led the Ocelots in scoring with 18, while E'Ajisha Guster had 13 and Ajai Meeks had 11. Meeks added 11 rebounds.

The Express (6-3) will take on Mott Community College on Wednesday at 5:30 p.m. in the SHAC.
