Lady Surge Win 95-68 Over Pikeville

Cincinnati, OH---The Cincinnati State women's basketball team won 95-68 against the J.V. squad from the University of Pikeville on Friday night.

The Surge defense generated 22 points off of 24 Pikeville turnovers. Alexus Chinn led the team defensively with a game high 6 steals to go along with 11 points and 8 rebounds. Kindsay Brandt, a graduate of Lakota West High School, led the Surge offensively with 24 points. Hannah Stephenson recorded 13 points, 7 assists and 3 steals. Backcourt teammate Grace McDougall led in the assist category with 9. Sophomore Cameron Vaughn finished the night with 17 points and 14 rebounds.
 
Cincinnati State outscored Pikeville 25-6 off of second chance points and possessed a 26-6 advantage on the offensive glass.
 
"We took advantage of our size and rebounded extremely well tonight. Overall, I was happy with our performance," Head Coach Sonya Beeler said.
 
Cincinnati State, which improves to 2-0 on the season, will have eight days until their next game against Wayne County Community College (MI) on Saturday, Nov. 17. The game is scheduled for a 1 pm tip-off at Cincinnati State.
