Sinclair Men starts off the season with a win at Ohio State-Lima 99-70

Dayton, OH---The Sinclair men's basketball team opened the season with a road trip to Ohio State-Lima.  The men started out with a 9-0 run and forced the Barons to call a time-out at 11-2 Sinclair lead.

Sinclair then continued posting a strong first half led by freshman center CJ Reed.  Reed made two free throws to put Sinclair up 35-18 with two minutes left in the half.  CJ then went on an offensive attack with a dunk with less than a minute left in the half and finished with a 3-pointer at the buzzer putting Sinclair up 45-23 at halftime.

The second half was much of the same as Sinclair kept the pressure on the Barons.  After scoring 45 points in the 1st half, Sinclair seemed to find the range as the Pride dropped in 54 in the second half.  Ohio State-Lima tried to shoot themselves back into the game with a streak of 3 pointers in the second half but Sinclair's defense and transition scoring was too much for the home team to overcome.

CJ Reed (6-7/FR – Colerain H.S., Cincinnati, OH) had a strong performance to start his college career against the Barons and was the leading scorer with 24 points.  Four other players scored double figures; Westley Parr (6-7/FR – Benedicitine H.S., Cleveland, OH) collected 20 points, Conner Myslowski (6-4/FR – West Carrollton H.S.) poured in 17, Marquez Carpenter-Mathis (6-6/FR – Western Hills H.S., Cincinnati, OH) added 14 and Trace Cureton (6-4/SO – Cathedral H.S., Indianapolis, IN) chipped in with 11.

In his eleventh season opener head coach Jeff Price was pleased with his team's performance.

"It was a good team win to start the season," Coach Price said.

Sinclair will play their first home game on Saturday when they host 4 time National Champion and the #2 pre-season ranked Mott CC. out of Flint, MI. Game time is set for 4PM.  The women will host University of Cincinnati Clermont at 2PM.
