Tom Jackson leads Surge to 79-57 road win over Edison

Piqua, OH---Returning to the lineup after missing five of Cincinnati State's last six games due to injury, sophomore Tom Jackson led the Surge with 22 points, 7 assists and 7 rebounds in a 79-57 road win over Edison on Wednesday night.
 
Jackson, whose 22 points and 7 assists was a game-high, converted 7 of 12 field goals and 6 of 9 from the free throw line. Freshman Winston Grays, who returned to the lineup after being sidelined one game with a twisted ankle, scored 17 points. Devonte Smith finished with 15 points and 6 rebounds. Jamal Ivery chipped in with 12 points as the Surge improved to 3-4 in the Ohio Community College Athletic Conference.
 
Eric Beckstedt led Edison with 12 points as the Chargers fell to 3-4 in the conference and 9-10 overall.
 
As a team, the Surge out-rebounded Edison 46-36 and were +9 in points off turnovers.
 
Improving to 16-7 overall, Cincinnati State will return to action against conference rival Lakeland Community College, a team ranked No. 11 in the NJCAA national poll, on Saturday at 3 pm.
