Dayton, OH---Cincinnati State overcame a hot shooting Sinclair Community College team with a 84-80 conference road win on Wednesday night.

Sinclair, which converted 14 of 36 three point attempts, made a late run after being down by 20 in the second half. With 35.5 seconds, Sinclair's Drew Moore hit his 7th three pointer of the game to cut the deficit to 4. That would be as close as Sinclair would get as Cincinnati State connected on 6 of 8 free throws to help seal the victory.

Cincinnati State's O'Brien Hobbs led the team with 24 points. Devonte Smith finished with 19 points and 8 rebounds. Lionel Hill, a Western Hills graduate, scored a personal best 18 points. Sophomore Nick Robertson finished with 10 points as the Surge improved to 2-4 in conference play.

Gavin Schumann led Sinclair with 26 points followed by Drew Moore's 24.

Cincinnati State, which improves to 15-7 overall, will return to action next Wednesday on the road against Edison Community College.
