Freshmen Grays and Ivery lead Cincinnati State past Columbus State for first conference win of season

Columbus, OH---Freshmen Winston Grays and Jamal Ivery led Cincinnati State past rival Columbus State Community College 63-59 on the road to claim the team's first conference victory of the season on Wednesday night
 
Grays converted 7 of 17 field goal attempts, including 4 for 10 from beyond the arc, to finish with a game-high 20 points. Ivery, who returned to the lineup after missing the previous three games due to a foot injury, scored 13 points and corralled 3 offensive rebounds in the final two minutes to help seal the win.
 
"We played together tonight," sophomore captain Nick Robertson said. "Down the stretch, we all made big plays to earn the win."
 
Improving to 14-6 overall with a 1-3 conference record, Cincinnati State will return home on Saturday to face Cuyahoga Community College at 1 pm.
