Cincinnati, OH---Owens Community College defeated Cincinnati State 73-72 on Saturday afternoon thanks to two converted free throws from Jay Marquette with 2.1 seconds remaining in the game.
Cincinnati State, which has lost their last three games by 1 point, were led by Winston Gray's, who finished with a game high 30 points.
Owens, which out rebounded Cincinnati State 37-29 and held an 11 point edge in second chance points, were led by James Kelly's 21 points, 11 rebounds and 2 blocks. Marquette finished with 12 points and 10 rebounds as Owens improved to 3-0 in conference play.
Cincinnati State, which drops to 13-6 and 0-3 in conference play, will face Columbus State Community College on the road on Wednesday.
