The Cincinnati State men's basketball team beat Madison College 116-69 in the final game of the Illinois Central College Holiday Invitational on Saturday afternoon.
Five players scored in double figures for Cincinnati State led by sophomore Tom Jackson, who finished with a game high 26 points and 10 assists. Freshman Winston Grays finished with 20 points, converting 6 of 9 shots from beyond the arc. Mycle Shadie recorded 18 points and 5 steals. Lionel Hill, a Western Hills graduate, scored 14 points. Forward Tyler Fischl made 5 of 6 field goals, finishing with 13 points.
As a team, Cincinnati State shot a season best 65% (22/34) from the three point line. The Surge also gained a 31-4 advantage in points scored off of turnovers.
Improving to 12-3 overall, the Surge will return home on Jan. 8 to play Ivy Tech at 7:30 pm.
