Cincinnati State wins 7th straight with 85-47 victory over Lourdes

Cincinnati, OH---The Cincinnati State Surge beat Lourdes University 85-47 on Monday night.

Sophomore Tom Jackson finished with a season high 29 points, converting 9 of 12 field goal attempts and 10 of 11 free throws. Freshman Winston Grays scored 17 points, which included a 4-point play at the end of the first half. Devonte Smith finished the game with 8 points, 7 rebounds and 4 steals as Cincinnati State claimed its 7th straight victory.

Defensively, the Surge forced Lourdes into 34 turnovers, which they converted into 30 points.

"We played one of our best games of the year defensively. If we continue to play as hard as we played tonight, it is going to be tough to beat us," Head Coach Andre Tate said.

Cincinnati State, which is ranked No. 17 in the NJCAA national poll with a 10-2 overall record, will return to action on the road against Wayne County Community College on Saturday.
