Cincinnati State's Jackson and Grays lead Surge to 6th straight win

Cincinnati, OH---Led by the backcourt combination of Tom Jackson and Winston Grays, the Cincinnati State men's basketball team won 112-55 over the University of Cedarville on Monday night.

Grays, a freshman from Cleveland, finished with game highs in points with 30 and steals with 9. Jackson, who came off the bench, recorded 19 points, 4 assists and 7 steals. Freshman forward Devonte Smith scored 14, converting 7 of 11 field goals. Mycle Shadie scored 12 as the Surge extended its winning streak to six games.

"Jackson, Grays and the rest of our guys worked hard on every possession tonight," Head Coach Andre Tate said. "We are starting to find our chemistry and are improving on playing team basketball on both ends of the floor."

As a team, the Surge defense forced Cedarville into 38 turnovers, resulting in a 51-12 edge in points of turnovers. Cincinnati State also claimed a 54-21 rebound advantage.

Improving to 9-2 on the season. the Surge will return to action next Monday to face Lourdes Community College at home beginning at 5 pm.
