Express Men Can't Find Offense In 75-58 Loss To No. 20 Glen Oaks

Toledo, OH---The Express men suffered a 75-58 loss to No. 20 Glen Oaks Community College in the SHAC today - one game after upsetting No. 1 Mott Community College.

Justin Edmonds, who finished with 21 points, three assists and two steals, kept the game respectable for the Express. He was the only player to score more than seven points.

As a team, the Express shot only 18-for-74 (24.3 percent) from the field and 7-for-29 (24.1 percent) from 3-point range. Additionally, they finished 15-for-27 (55.6 percent) from the foul line.

Aside from Edmonds, the Express finished 12-for-58 (20.7 percent) as a team.

James Kelly finished with 10 rebounds, but was swarmed defensively all day as he finished 0-for-7 from the field and tied a career low in points scored with two. He only played four minutes in the first half due to foul trouble.

Chris Wilson provided a solid effort off the bench for the Express as the sophomore finished with 11 rebounds (six offensive) in 15 minutes. Another bench player, Franklin Lindsey, added seven points, three rebounds and two assists.

The starting lineup for the Express combined to shoot just 4-for-36, which included a 1-for-13 performance from 3-point range.

Lee Gardner III led the Vikings offensively with 17 points, 18 rebounds (seven offensive) and one block, while Williams Powell had 19 points, three rebounds and three steals. Antonio Hearn added 10 points, nine rebounds, three assists and three steals off the bench.

The Express fall to 9-5 with the loss. Their next game is on the road Dec. 20 against No. 1 Mott at 7:30 p.m.
