White, Anders, Dintaman Earn OCCAC Baseball Postseason Awards, All-Conference Team Announced

Jimmy White and Alex Anders of Sinclair Community College were named the OCCAC Player of the Year and Pitcher of the Year, respectively, while their head coach Steve Dintaman was named the OCCAC Coach of the Year.

In OCCAC play, White went 31-for-73 (.425) with 29 runs, nine doubles, one triple, four home runs, 28 RBI, 16 walks and eight stolen bases. Meanwhile, Anders finished 5-1 with a 2.12 ERA. In 34 innings, he allowed 22 hits and 12 walks while striking out 32.

The trio of White, Anders and Dintaman led Sinclair to a 20-4 record in conference play, which put them seven games ahead of Cuyahoga Community College for first place in the OCCAC. Sinclair is 47-9 overall entering Wednesday's Region XII tournament opener.

Aside from the major postseason awards, the OCCAC also announced this year's all-conference team.

White, Alex Young, Tyler Cowles, Alec Turner and Anders all made the team from Sinclair. Cuyahoga's Connor Ryan, Ben Szymczak, Eric Roder and Gabriel Vargas made the team after helping their team to a second place finish in the OCCAC. Third place Lakeland place Anthony Strnad, Ryan Osko and Miguel Flowers II on the team, while fourth place Owens had Charlie Sipe and Casey Gose make the team.

Sinclair opens up Region XII tournament play against Henry Ford College on Wednesday, while Owens will open up against Mott Community College on Wednesday after capturing this past weekend's Sub-Region XII tournament.
