Cobras Down Tartans To Cap Off Weekend

By Brendan Loiacono/Sinclair Sports Information

The Parkland Cobras defeated the Sinclair Tartan Pride on a frigid day at Athletes in Action.

The Cobras broke onto the scoreboard first in the top half of the first inning with a lone run.

The Tartans responded with three runs in the bottom half of the same inning. The Sinclair second frame started with a leadoff walk by Nick McGill, who advanced to second when Darwin Argumedo dropped down a sacrifice bunt. Jon Lowe then singled scoring McGill and tying the game at 1-1.

Later in the inning, AJ Kruzel singled with two outs, scoring Alex Delk and Dustin Cottrell, giving Sinclair a 3-1 lead. In the top of the fifth inning, the Cobra's offense scored five runs which would go unanswered for the duration of the game.

With only two hits in the inning, the Cobra's offense took advantage of free bases and defensive miscues from the Pride.

Tomorrow will be a day off for the Pride, and will travel to Indiana on Tuesday to play Vincennes University.
