Breanna Ball and Bikramjit Gill have been named the Ohio Community College Athletic Conference (OCCAC) Players of the Week.

Ball, a freshman forward for the Sinclair Community College women's basketball team, averaged 26.5 points, 12 rebounds and 3.5 steals per game in two wins over Cedarville JV and Ivy Tech Community College.

In a 72-65 loss to Cedarville JV, Ball had 19 points, 13 rebounds, two assists and two steals. Then, in a 90-48 win over Ivy Tech, she was 15-for-22 from the field while producing 34 points, 11 rebounds and five steals.

"Breanna played two great games offensively and defensively," said Sinclair women's basketball head coach Marcus Stewart. "She scored in different ways by attacking the basket and hitting mid-range jumpers and free throws. Her work on the boards and one defense is a big key to our success."

Ball is second on the team in scoring this year for Sinclair (6-6 overall) at 15.3 points per game. She is also second on the team with 6.5 rebounds per game, while adding 1.6 assists and 2.1 steals per game.

Ball and Sinclair will host Miami University - Middletown tomorrow at 5:30 p.m.

Meanwhile, Gill averaged a double-double over three wins for the Owens Community College men's basketball team.

The sophomore forward averaged 16.7 points, 11.3 rebounds and 1.7 blocks per game in wins over Henry Ford Community College, Delta College and Erie Community College.

Gill opened the week with 13 points, nine rebounds, two blocks, two steals and one assist in a 103-62 win over Henry Ford. He did that in only 17 minutes of play. Then, in the opening game of the Lynn Conway Classic at Delta College, he had 16 points, seven rebounds and two blocks in 21 minutes. In that game, he finished 7-for-7 from the field.

In the championship game of the Conway Classic, Gill had 21 points, 18 rebounds (five offensive) and one block in an 82-81 win over Erie Community College. He scored most of his points late in the second half as the Express pulled out a tough win.

"Bik has been improving every week and his hard work paid off this weekend," said Owens men's basketball head coach Dave Clarke. "Bik can score the ball in the paint and hit the outside shot. He has been highly recruited at the college level and this past week showed why he will play at the D-1 level. He played with a great deal of passion and energy that helped us with two big road wins."

The Express, who have won six of their past seven games, are now 9-3 overall this year. They will take part in the KVCC Classic this weekend. They open against host KVCC at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.

Congratulations to both players on their accomplishments!
