It was in her team's 77-70 win over No. 12 Kalamazoo Valley in which Carter shined the most. The guard weaved her way to 22 second half points (28 overall), including two assists and two rebounds. She finished 9-for-17 from the field, 2-for-3 from 3-point range and 8-for-9 from the foul line.

Through 12 games this year, Carter is averaging 17.8 points, 3.8 rebounds and 3.8 assists per game. She is shooting 41.7 percent from the field, 34.7 percent from 3-point range and 78.8 percent from the foul line. She has also scored in double figures in every game for the Express.

Carter and the Express are 11-1 overall and riding an 11 game winning streak into their home matchup on Saturday against Kirtland Community College.

This week's POW honor is Carter's second of the season.

Meanwhile, Hobbs is a sophomore guard for Cincinnati State Technical and Community College who led the Surge to home wins over Ohio State University club, Moraine Valley Community College and Triton College last week.

In each of the wins, Hobbs led his team in scoring. In a 116-64 win over OSU club, he had 17 points, five assists and three steals in 20 minutes. In a 106-44 win over Moraine Valley, he had a season-high 23 points on 9-for-12 shooting in 24 minutes. Then, in an 83-79 win over previously undefeated Triton, he had 20 points - including 12 in the second half.

Hobbs, who is the Surge's first man off the bench, is averaging 13.1 points per game and has scored 20 plus points in five of the team's 10 games.

The Surge are currently 9-1 and ranked No. 20 in the NJCAA D-II poll. They stand a good chance of moving up in the polls once the new one is released Tuesday.

Congratulations to both players on their accomplishments!
