Richards, Howard Named OCCAC Players of the Week

Brooke Richards and Rasheed Howard have been named the Ohio Community College Athletic Conference (OCCAC) Players of the Week.

Richards, a sophomore guard from Edison Community College, averaged 20 points, four rebounds and four assists in wins over Miami-Middletown and Glen Oaks Community College last week.

In their 112-77 win over Miami-Middletown, she had 20 points, six assists and four rebounds. Following that, she had 20 points, four rebounds and two assists in a 62-59 win over Glen Oaks.

Through five games this year, Richards is averaging 20 points, five assists and 3.6 rebounds for Edison (5-1). One of their wins was via forfeit.

Meanwhile, Howard is a freshman forward for Lakeland Community College (6-1). He averaged 22 points, 

In a 100-98 loss to Mercyhurst North East Community College, Howard produced 32 points, four rebounds and two steals. Then, in a 121-65 win over Westmoreland County Community College, Howard chipped in 12 points, six rebounds, three assists and two steals.

Howard is averaging 14.7 points, 4.1 rebounds and 1.6 assists per game this year for the Lakers.
