Four More Basketball Player of the Week Honorees Announced

SPRINGFIELD, Ohio – This week’s OCCAC Basketball Players of the Week honorees went to three repeat winners alongside a school’s first ever selection. The D-II choices were Amanda Schroeder (Sinclair) and Devon Robinson (Cuyahoga) while Angel Blakely (Lorain County) and Noah Davis (Hocking College) brought home D-III laurels.

AMANDA SCHROEDER
Sinclair Community College
Freshman power forward

Schroeder has crushed it over the last four weeks, nabbing her third OCCAC Player of the Week honor in that stretch. She averaged a mammoth 29.7 points per game in leading Sinclair to three victories. She posted scoring lines of 33, 30 and 26 points while shooting 53% (32-of-60) from the field and a flawless 20-of-20 at the free throw line. Schroeder also garnered per game averages of 7.0 rebounds, 3.0 assists and 3.0 steals.

ANGEL BLAKELY
Lorain County Community College
Sophomore forward

Blakely has won the weekly award in three of the last four weeks as well, including back-to-back. This week, the Lorain County Commodores played a lone contest, besting Southern State by an 85-71 tally. Blakely notched a 30-point performance of her own, connecting on a dozen field goals. She added seven rebounds, five assists and two steals to the stat sheet.

Lorain County has now represented the D-III player of the week in five of seven weeks following Hannah Oehlstrom’s back-to-back distinctions to start the season.  

DEVON ROBINSON
Cuyahoga Community College
Sophomore wing guard

Robinson grabs his fourth career OCCAC Player of the Week recognition and third this season. He has pushed Cuyahoga to a perfect 15-0 mark and the top ranking in the country. In a pair of wins, Robinson racked up 34 points and 32 rebounds for two double-doubles. He shot 52% from the field while chipping in six steals, five assists and four blocks

Cuyahoga extends its player of the week streak to four consecutive weeks.

NOAH DAVIS
Hocking College
Freshman guard

Davis becomes the first basketball student-athlete, male or female, to be named an OCCAC Player of the Week in Hocking College history. He averaged 18.5 points, 6.5 rebounds 3.0 assists per game, shooting 46% (11-of-24) on field goal attempts and excelled from behind the lines with 5-of-10 on 3-pointers and 10-of-12 at the charity stripe.
