Harley, Davis Earn All-American Honors

Colorado Springs, Colo.---Sierra Harley of Owens Community College and Mike Davis of Lakeland Community College were each named First Team All-Americans by the NJCAA this week.

Harley averaged 15.5 points, 5.6 rebounds, 5.2 assists and 2.2 steals per game while leading Owens to a 34-2 overall record. Along the way, she helped the team capture its third straight OCCAC championship, its second Region XII District I championship in the past three years, and a third place finish at the NJCAA Division II National Tournament.

At the national tournament, Harley averaged 15.3 points, 5.5 rebounds and 6.8 assists per game. She was named to the all-tournament team after previously being named the OCCAC player of the year and First Team All-Region XII. She is the fifth All-American in the history of Owens women's basketball and the third First Team All-American.

Davis became the fourth men's basketball player from Lakeland to earn First Team All-American honors over the past five seasons, which is tied for the most in the nation among NJCAA Division II programs. The sophomore guard averaged a team-high 20.5 points per game en route to the OCCAC Player of the Year award and First Team All-Region XII honors. 

In the NJCAA Division II National Tournament, Davis averaged 21.5 points and was named to the all-tournament team after leading Lakeland to a 3-1 record and a fifth place finish. Overall, Lakeland finished 27-7 and earned a share of the OCCAC championship before capturing the Region XII District 11 championship.

Notes

John Murry of Owens Community College was also named an NJCAA Third Team All-American. He becomes the second straight Third Team All-American for Owens, and it is the third straight season their program has produced an All-American. Murry, a sophomore guard, averaged 17.9 points, 5.6 rebounds and 3.1 assists per game. His team's season ended vs Lakeland in the district championship game.
