Week Two OCCAC Basketball Players of the Week Announced

SPRINGFIELD, Ohio – Four student-athletes were selected Monday (Nov. 13) as the Ohio Community College Athletic Conference (OCCAC) Basketball Players of the Week. Ryann Greenfield (Cuyahoga) and Quantes Jackson (Sinclair) are the D-II award recipients while Lorain County’s Hannah Oehlstrom and Jovon Jones both collected the D-III weekly award.

RYANN GREENFIELD
Cuyahoga Community College
Sophomore forward

Greenfield converted on 70 percent of her field goal attempts in a pair of Cuyahoga road victories, averaging 19.0 points per game. She began the week with a flawless 8-for-8 shooting performance en route to 20 points in a win at Erie Community College. She added five boards and two steals to her stat line at Erie as well. The next day brought 18 more points and a half dozen assists at Genesee Community College.

HANNAH OEHLSTROM
Lorain County Community College
Freshman guard

Oehlstrom buried 11 of 22 three-point attempts and knocked in 49 percent of her field goal attempts overall while compiling an 18.7 points per game average. She crashed the boards for 22 rebounds total in three contests, pairing 10 rebounds against Penn State DuBois with 13 points for a double-double. She upped the ante in the next two games, scoring 23 and 20 points versus Anne Arundel Community College and Lehigh Carbon Community College, respectively.

QUANTES JACKSON
Sinclair Community College
Freshman guard

Jackson made two-thirds of his shots overall (12-of-18) and from beyond the arc (6-of-9) for a total 34 points in two games while also averaging 6.0 rebounds, 3.5 assists and 1.5 steals per game. His 20-point effort against Miami University Middletown propelled the Tartan Pride to a 100-62

JOVON JONES
Lorain County Community College
Freshman forward

Jones swiped the glass for 13 rebounds in the past week, helping Lorain County improve to 3-0 on the young season. The freshman forward chipped in 20 points offensively on 9-of-15 shooting and four assists. He got it done defensively, too, notching two blocks and a steal in each game.

NOTE:  First career OCCAC Player of the Week award for Jones and second straight D-III men’s accolade for Lorain County.
