OCCAC Awards Five Student-Athletes For POTW Recognition

Springfield, Ohio---Due to the expanding nature of Division II and Division III teams within the Ohio Community College Athletic Conference (OCCAC) for men's and women's basketball, the OCCAC will be expanding its player of the week awards for the first time in conference history.

Beginning with today's announcement, the OCCAC will named a Division II and Division III player of the week for men's and women's basketball.

Thus, this week's OCCAC player of the week recipients are as follows:

NJCAA Division II OCCAC WBB Player of the Week
Reanna Dudley, Sinclair C.C.

Dudley averaged 16 points, four rebounds, three assists and three steals in her team's two games last week, which included a 74-67 win over Columbus State and a 78-56 loss to Owens. She combined to shoot 10-for-23 from the field, while adding eight rebounds, six assists and six steals.

NJCAA Division III OCCAC WBB Player of the Week
Carli Codner-Pinto, Columbus State C.C.

Codner-Pinto averaged 30.5 points, 5.5 assists, 4.5 rebounds and two steals over two games last week, which included a 74-67 loss to Sinclair and a 109-89 win over Hocking. She finished 22-for-42 from the field and 11-for-12 from the free throw line while totaling nine rebounds, 11 assists and four steals.

NJCAA Division II MBB Co-Player of the Week
Akiean Frederick, Sinclair C.C. and Devon Robinson, Cuyahoga C.C.

Frederick averaged 25 points, 12.5 rebounds, three assists and 2.5 blocks over two games last week, which included a 91-87 win over Columbus State and an 84-81 loss to Owens. He finished 19-for-36 from the field and 11-for-16 from the foul line. He produced 17 rebounds in the win over Columbus State and totaled 25 rebounds, six assists, one steal and five blocks during the week.

Robinson averaged 16 points, 13.5 rebounds, 3.5 steals and 2.5 assists, and he produced a pair of double-doubles last week in wins over Owens (95-90) and Clark State (84-34). He finished 11-for-19 from the field and 10-for-15 from the foul line while totaling 17 rebounds, five assists, seven steals and one block.

Mario Young, Columbus State C.C.

Young averaged 21 points, 4.5 rebounds, 5.5 assists and 1.5 steals over two games last week, which included a 91-87 loss to Sinclair and a 102-86 win over Hocking. He finished 17-for-24 from the field and 8-for-12 from the foul line while totaling nine rebounds, 11 assists, three steals and one block.
