Tucker, Evans Garner OCCAC Basketball POTW Recognition

Springfield, Ohio---The Ohio Community College Athletic Conference (OCCAC) has named Jaylen Tucker and Aaryn Evans as the player of the week recipients in men's and women's basketball, respectively.

Tucker, a sophomore forward for the Owens Community College men's basketball team, produced 29 points on 12-for-19 shooting, along with 10 rebounds, four assists, two steals and two blocks in a 100-99 upset of No. 9 Lansing Community College last week. He also finished 5-for-6 from the foul line while producing his second straight and fifth overall double-double of the season.

The award is the second for Tucker in the past three weeks after he also won on Nov. 13.

Overall, Tucker is averaging 18.6 points, 10.7 rebounds, 1.6 assists, 1.9 steals and 1.3 blocks per game for Owens, which is 4-3 entering Wednesday's rematch against No. 6 Schoolcraft College at home.

Evans, meanwhile, produced 26 points, 15 rebounds (nine offensive) and three steals to lead Sinclair Community College to a 96-53 win over Ohio State University's Lima branch campus. She finished 12-for-20 from the field and 2-for-3 from the foul line.

Evans, a freshman forward, has averaged 11.9 points, 13.1 rebounds and 2.5 steals per game this year for Sinclair, which has started the season 7-1 overall entering tomorrow's home game against Cedarville University's JV team.
