Sinclair's Price Named OCCAC Athletic Director of the Year

Springfield, Ohio---Sinclair Community College's Jeff Price has been named the 2016-17 Ohio Community College Athletic Conference (OCCAC) athletic director of the year.

"It's an honor to be recognized by my peers and to be a part of the leadership team in our conference that is moving our body forward and breaking new ground," Price said. "I'm honored to be associated with this group of forward thinking and inspired athletic directors."

This past year, with Price in charge of the department, the Sinclair baseball team had another great year by winning the OCCAC regular season championship and advancing to the Region XII championship game.

The men's basketball team, which is coached by Price, finished 22-10 overall and were fifth in conference play. The team defeated Edison in the Region XII District 11 quarterfinals before falling in the next round. In women's basketball, Sinclair finished 23-8 overall and finished fourth in league play before falling in the Region XII District I semifinals following a quarterfinal win over Edison.

The women's volleyball team finished 26-8 overall and was the conference runner-up. The team fell to Owens in the Region XII District I championship. In softball, Sinclair was 18-23 and advanced to the Region XII tournament.

Blaze Glenn of Sinclair's baseball team was named the OCCAC's male scholar athlete of the year and Kyle Ruehlman won the OCCAC's pitcher of the year award. Steve Dintaman was named coach of the year, too. Furthermore, Lauren Roetgerman (women's basketball) and Jackson Pietrzak (men's basketball).

Away from Sinclair, Price serves as the assistant commissioner and the chair of men's and women's basketball within the OCCAC.
