Diamond, Sicking Reclaim Player of the Week Distinction

SPRINGFIELD, Ohio – For the second time this season, Elizabeth Sicking (Sinclair) and Bobby Diamond (Columbus State) have been named the OCCAC Volleyball Players of the Week in the same week. This also marks the third weekly recognition for each honoree in 2018.

Sicking brings home her third D-II Player of the Week accolade after going back-to-back on Sept. 10 and 17. For her latest laurel, Sicking blasted 5.90 kills per set at a .379 attacking rate during the Tartan Pride’s 3-0 week. In addition to her 6.55 points/set, she also contributed 3.80 digs/set.

Diamond is one of three Cougars to earn the weekly award this season as Columbus State owns five of seven D-III nods overall. Diamond’s third recognition (also Sept. 3, Sept. 17) comes after a seven-day stretch which included 5.08 points per set and a blistering .536 hitting percentage. She was a dominant force in the front court with 3.85 kills and .92 blocks per set. Diamond inflicted additional damage from the service stripe, sniping the opposition for nine aces as CSCC posted a 4-0 mark.
