Sicking, Russell Honored by Conference Office

SPRINGFIELD, Ohio – Elizabeth Sicking (Sinclair) maintained her stronghold of the OCCAC D-II Volleyball Player of the Week honor, notching her fourth distinction of the season, while Columbus State’s Tiziana Russell became the fourth different Cougar to wrangle the D-III award through eight weeks.

Sicking put forth 5.80 kills per set at a .287 attacking rate alongside a 3.10 digs per set average in three contests last week. She produced no less than 17 kills in each match and peaked with a 21-kill, 15-dig double-double in just three sets at No. 3 Owens. Sicking owns half of the league’s D-II weekly recognitions in 2018, corralling four of eight.

Russell has come on as of late for the Cougars. In the last seven days, the right-side hitter attacked .373 (24-5-51) en route to 1.71 kills per set. She contributed defensively as well, posting 10 blocks (two solo) in 14 sets played during a 4-0 week for Columbus State. Russell represents the sixth OCCAC Player of the Week laurel for CSCC in 2018.
