SPRINGFIELD, Ohio – A pair of new names captured OCCAC Volleyball Player of the Week honors for Week Six (Sept. 24-30) as Tionne El-Amin (Cuyahoga) and Georgia Payne (Columbus State) earned the D-II and D-III laurels, respectively.

TIONNE EL-AMIN
Cuyahoga Community College
El-Amin was busy last week, logging 20 sets over five matches for the Challengers. She racked up 94 total kills (4.70/set) and 100 points (5.00/set) while attacking .363 (94-16-215). El-Amin swung .339 or better in four of five contests and added four more points from the service stripe. She contributed defensively as well with 25 digs and four blocks.

GEORGIA PAYNE

Payne becomes the third different Cougar to capture the honor this season. Columbus State did not drop a single set in four matches, lifted by Payne’s stellar play. She served as a ‘6-2’ setter and transitioned to middle blocker when in the front row. For the week, Payne stuffed the stat sheet with 5.33 assists, 2.79 points, 2.00 digs, 1.92 kills and .83 blocks per set while attacking .377 (23-3-53).
