Cuyahoga Women's Track & Field Wins Region XII Championship

CLEVELAND, Ohio – The Cuyahoga women’s team scored 297.5 points to take the NJCAA Region XII Outdoor track title for the 16th time since 2000.   The women outdistanced runner up Vincennes University (162.5 points), Lansing Community College (110 points) and Muskegon Community College.  The team had eight individual event winners along with the 4X100m relay.

Chanavier Robinson (Ravenna) captured four regional titles and one relay title as she won the 100m (12.6), 200m (26.5) as well as the long jump (17’) and triple jump (33’ 8”).   Vanessa Lane (Tallmadge) won both the 100m hurdles and 400 intermediate hurdle events.   Jordan Kati (Eastlake) won the 10,000m run while teammate Taylor Wilson (Eastlake) won the javelin.   The 4X100m relay team of Zakiyah Wesley (Parma), DeLisha McMiller (Streetsboro), Kamry Brown (Lima) and Chanavier Robinson also finished in first in 49.39.

Other scoring athletes included DeLisha McMiller (2nd) and Kamry Brown (3rd) in the 100m dash.   Kamry Brown (2nd) and Taylor Badamo (North Royalton, 3rd) in the 200m.  Kamry Brown runner up in the 400m in a season best 57.63 followed by Naomi Walker (North Olmsted, 3rd).  Caroline Lapish (Madison) took runner up honors in the 1500m run in 5:04.6, 3rd in the 5000m in 19:55.0 and 2nd in the 3000m steeplechase in 12:04.   Tania French (Berea) placed 2nd in the 10,000m run while also placing 3rd in both hurdle events.   In the relays, the 4X800m relay team of Naomi Walker, Taylor Badamo, Vanessa Lane and Sonnie Sauvinski placed 2nd while the 4X400m relay team composed of Chanavier Robinson, Vanessa Lane, Taylor Badamo and Kamry Brown finished 3rd.

In the field events, runner up finishes were recorded by Kamry Brown in the triple Jump, Taylor Wilson in the hammer and Taylor Badamo in the javelin.
