Five Spring Athletes Honored by OCCAC

SPRINGFIELD, Ohio – Week 4 of the Spring season brings five OCCAC awards with Noah Laster (Eastern Gateway) and AJ Peter (Sinclair) sharing Baseball co-Pitcher of the Week recognition. The Tartan Pride swept the rest of the weekly honors when Keegan Corbett and Hailey McEldowney were selected as Players of the Week and Ashley Brown was bestowed Softball Pitcher of the Week accolades.

KEEGAN CORBETT
Sinclair Community College | Baseball Player of the Week
Corbett batted 4-for-9 with a homerun and two RBI in Sinclair’s series sweep over Kellogg. He also drew a walk for an overall OPS of 1.300. The catcher made an impact from behind the dish as well, throwing out three baserunners.

HAILEY MCELDOWNEY
Sinclair Community College | Softball Player of the Week
McEldowney hit .448 over the course of a whopping 11 games played last week. She posted three extra-base hits with a double and two triples. McEldowney was directly responsible for seven runs, driving in four and scoring three. Her stellar efforts earned NFCA Leadoff Classic All-Tournament Team honors.

NOAH LASTER
Eastern Gateway Community College | Baseball co-Pitcher of the Week
Laster tossed six innings of shutout baseball, surrendering just one hit and one walk in the Gators’ 6-0 victory over Allegheny County-Boyce. He fanned nine batters in picking up the win. Laster helped his own cause at the dish as well, ripping two hits and driving in a pair of runs.

AJ PETER
Sinclair Community College | Baseball co-Pitcher of the Week
Peter posted a 7-inning complete game shutout in Game 3 of the series sweep over Kellogg. He scattered four hits and struck out nine to secure the win.

ASHLEY BROWN
Sinclair Community College | Softball Pitcher of the Week
Brown started six of Sinclair’s 11 games, earning three wins. She totaled 21.1 innings and sat down 18 batters via the strike out.
